Matthew Walter is a Baltimore-based Senior Graphic Designer who has spent 20+ years shaping print, digital, and brand campaigns across higher education, the corporate sector, and media. He cut his teeth in small mom-and-pop screen print shops before moving into larger creative roles — experience that gave him both hands-on production chops and a deep respect for the craft of design.
For the past decade at Goucher College, he has led design for marketing and advancement materials that engage prospective students, connect a 23,000-strong alumni network, and strengthen donor relations, while also guiding the brand identity of Goucher Athletics. His work has ranged from annual giving campaigns and event collateral to contributions to the college’s Undaunted campaign, balancing creativity with strategy to foster stronger alumni and donor engagement.
Other career highlights include designing global packaging and promotional campaigns for DEWALT at Stanley Black & Decker, supporting launches in North America, Europe, Australia, and Latin America. Earlier, he spent several years at the Baltimore City Paper — where he built client campaigns and produced layouts that shaped the city’s cultural conversation.
Matthew thrives when strategy and creativity meet. He’s excited to step further into art direction, guide junior designers, and partner with writers, photographers, and marketers to transform strong ideas into standout campaigns.
Outside of work, Matthew has been a DJ and radio host for more than 20 years and co-founded the online station radioplastique.com. He lives in Baltimore with his partner Claire and identical twin boys, Charlie and Leon — who ensure he always stays curious, adaptable, and just a little bit loud.
